There is an eat-in-kitchen with cherry lower cabinets and a thick, solid cherry counter. With the cream-white upper cabinets, scrolled country-farmhouse trim around the sink and windows, and tile floor the effect is simple, elegant, welcoming, and warm. A knotty-pine family room features tasteful rows of bookshelves along one wall and two picture windows, each with three cherry wooden blinds. This leads into the living room which features a granite fireplace and hearth, a built-in corner closet, and a built-in hutch with display shelves. A small sunroom leading to the screened porch featuring a beautiful panorama across the lawn to the oak tree through two large widows. This makes a cozy small office and reading area. There is a sunny, screened-in porch leading to a shady pachysandra-lined patio bordered by white birch trees. This is wonderful "al fresco" place for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Picture windows in the family room and living room frame a beautiful but private view of lawn, yet are difficult to see into from the boundaries of the property. Most of the windows in the house have solid cherry louvered blinds. The oak floors throughout the house are not the short-boarded choppy "Home Depot" stuff, but long, close grained, knot and sapwood-free boards with few adjacent joints. Most doors are solid Honduras mahogany. They have beautiful, furniture quality grain. All door hardware is polished, solid brass. The original house features high quality, hard to find plaster walls and built-in cast-iron radiators. There are two large walk-in closets in the master bedroom.
